There is no physical management intervention here, although it is important to identify
the various
human activities that may impact on the area and deal with any potential damage or disturbance.
A major intrusion into the area is the beach ferry, and it is essential to meet the
operator early in
the season to reiterate the care that must be taken to minimise undue disturbance and avoid the
sensitive habitats.
Further disturbance may come from another range of vehicles, quad bikes, motor bikes,
four-wheel
drive vehicles etc. Every effort will be made to apprehend and remove the offenders. A watching
brief is kept by Mr T Savage at Seacroft and information is passed to the police and other relevant
authorities. ELDC have erected notices to discourage vehicular access from the approach roads at
Seacroft. EN are presently tackling this issue on the NE Lincs coast. The CROW act may be
instrumental in effecting suitable deterrent/prosecution for damage to SSSI’s.
These ridges act as major repositories for large debris. Partly for aesthetics and
partly for health
and safety of visitors, the most unsightly and/or dangerous material will be removed.
The passage of pedestrians has little physical effect on the feature.
